About Us
CIM Sri Lanka Region was the first international branch of CIM, UK and was established on 20 October 1995. Since then, CIM has campaigned constantly for greater recognition and excellence in the marketing profession in Sri Lanka through marketing education, training and development. In order to identify and cater to the specific needs of widespread CIM’s stakeholders, a new operational model with a “Focus Group” structure was introduced which was well accepted and subsequently adopted by other CIM branches and regions.
CIM grew in stature leading the way in showing the region how marketing could be embraced as a strategic function that underpins business success in corporates; which enabled CIM to achieve “Regional” status in July 2004. This has given the influence for CIM Sri Lanka Region to over look the operations of the entire South East Asian region. Over the years, CIM Sri Lanka Region has grown from strength to strength, leading the effort to bring marketing to the corporate boardroom; and has become the fastest growing CIM body in the world. In recognition of the excellent value created to its membership and the regional community, CIM Sri Lanka Region was awarded the Best Managed Region Award for the first time in 2005.
Owing to a clear strategic vision, a passion for real marketing and continuous efforts to out do its own achievements, CIM Sri Lanka Region was able to secure The Best Managed Region Award for three consecutive years since 2005. The “Best Programme of Events Award” also received at the International Chairmen’s Conference 2007 was the most recent add-on to the many accolades won by CIM Sri Lanka Region.
